Okay, Wrath of the Lich King is out, things just look generally cool all over despite the game suffering real bad from the many cooks spoiling the broth syndrome, but that horrible temptation is still there. I could return to dualboxing, because there are still things to do and new ways to do it, and I say dualboxing because that's financially okay by me.

If I were to return to dualboxing World of Warcraft I would go with two human warriors on a PvP server. I've tried two human warriors up to ten, clunky, a challenge but it works. With the Logitech G11 keyboard I can move both characters around separately from each other to make positioning much easier, too, so it's up to Charge, Intercept, what else is there?

The cheap way out would be just the default WoW. I could very well grind the duo in level 60 AV like that for gear that would help out with leveling up. Perhaps scoot along in old world raids with a friendly guild for more gear. I'd be able to fill one talent tree down to the bottom most tier, for my guys that that would mean Titan's Grip at 60 if there's enough stats to make up for it. An alternative until there's enough stat-heavy weaponry to make TG worth it is the route of Arms with melee leather for Bladestorm. Yeees.

I would start from scratch on a new server with perhaps a few spare bags and gold as gifts, primary character would handle mining, secondary herbalism and skinning. What could I give the primary character that would greatly help the duo out, if I were to primarily leave them level 60? Best to keep them as farmers until later.

Why a warrior duo, why not a..

Hunter duo? Been there done that, highly effective but so good it becomes boring
Mage duo? See above
Warlock duo? See above but even easier, DoT everything x2 and run around, enjoy honor pouring in, could possibly dominate lv60 AV games though
Druid duo? Done moonkin and tried ferals but they're better off healing
Priests? Taken a duo to 70 and beyond but the class had too many problems, simply not fun to heal with and insanely weak compared to all other cloth&leather types
Paladin duo? Melee, horrible
Rogue duo? Melee, horrible, but if there was a way to get a Charge like ability early and /follow it would be superb
Shaman duo? Requires very special gear and build to make use as elemental which is what you need for multiboxing them
Deathknight? Gotta get to 55 on both accounts first

Maybe I'll just resist the temptation and admit that MMOs aren't for me any longer. My muscles can't handle it, I enjoy making music and working with photography and going out and keeping my home and myself taken care of. But then again, a box of vanilla WoW is like $10, so $20 to dualbox a pair of warriors for a month - I should be able to get them to 60.

But it is a seductive temptress. If I could use my hands and arms for longer times for things I would have to 3-4 box moonkin. Just two moonkin did a great job at duoing instances and tough quests, what could I do with two more. Leaving one spot out to make room for a second human player, of course.

I need to be strong.

Even with my worsening condition, the idea of $20 for a pair of warriors to dualbox to 60 in a months time sounds great to me. I'd get it working, I'd play 'em a lot. I'd have fun with the difficulty in that class combination. I'd hit 60 and have a good time. I'd make new friends, new enemies, new buckets of pubbie tears. Would it be wrong if I who swore to return did it just for one month..

If I do play, the way I work is that if I have something to do, I'm not eating, so I'd lose weight, but, household chores take a bit of a beating.. but the challenge that lies ahead.. I can taste it on the tip of my tongue. I wants it, to bring up an old cliche saying - hard to imagine it was that long ago that the LOTR movies were making the rounds.

But what is 1-60 like in todays game? Will I be able to access that triple-exp refer a friend thing with just vanilla WoW x2? What if lv60 AV really is dead? Untwinked with no access to TBC gear it's going to be horrible until I.. but with a pair of TBC it'd be the same at 70..

The more I think about it, the more I do, and do not want to do it. With these latest thoughts, I think I'm not going to do it. The trip might be fun, for some people it's all about the trip and not the goal, but I'd like a goal, something to do it for besides hitting 60 and making pubbie tears.

Meanwhile, the alternative is Warhammer Online. Find a server with good population, create character and start with good PvP right from the start, with far far more than X (WSG AB AV EOTS WhateverWotlkAdded) battle grounds to choose from. I can jump in on any server, create and go have a good time. But it would not provide that dualboxing challenge. Unless they've figured out how to successfully dualbox it. In which case I might need a stronger, faster computer.

Maybe I should just finish up this site instead, and work on the more productive hobby of music.

Until the patch with Slayers and Choppas and the Darkness Falls dungeon arrives to WAR.

I'm clueless and confused. Maybe it's best I'm left pondering.

(Update - late June 2009)

Looking over the mental health of the people still playing WoW I think I'll scratch those plans. Looking over the state of WAR, what's in it for me besides rolling more alts and taking them halfway through T4 and then starting another alt?

Maybe MMOs aren't for me right now. Until they drop some new faction on WAR or something. Or if I get into a beta for whatever is next for Blizzard. Not like I can do anything anyway with my muscles keeping me from something as simple as using my thumbs to play games with a joypad.
